9 WAYS TO BE ON TOP OF ANY SITUATION

Success No Comments »

For us to be able to be on top of any situation we find ourselves in there are certain basic things we need to do. The purpose of this short article is to sensitize us to these basics so that we can learn to take charge of our lives and be in control at any point in time. The following are a few tips in this direction:

  • You Need To Take Care of Yourself.

You need to eat the right kinds of food, exercise, and get enough rest. Avoid alcoholic beverages, nicotine, intoxicants, addictives etc. Many of us do not take our health seriously.

  • Do Not Make Hasty Assumptions.

It is never in your best interest to make assumptions without concrete empirical evidence. Do not assume that you know what others are thinking about you or any other situation for that matter. A good approach is to find out what the true facts are before arriving at any conclusions. Do not waste precious time worrying that something is wrong or that you did something wrong unless you have indisputable evidence that there is actually something to worry about.

  • Dwell on Positive Thoughts And Avoid Negatives In Your Life.

‘As a man thinketh so he is’ is a well known saying. You need to exercise authority over your thoughts. If you dwell on negative thoughts, you will behave and act negatively. There are some negative thoughts that crop up automatically in our brains. We need to detach ourselves from such thoughts and begin to make a habit of thinking positively. The Christian Bible says that “If anything … think on these”.

  • Do Not Use Absolutes.

In most cases, it is not safe to use absolutes. This is because you stand the risk of exposing yourself to ridicule when the contrary is proved. Do not be in a hurry to employ terms like ‘ALWAYS’ ‘NEVER’ as such terminologies make things appear worse than they might really be. Besides, you become prone to believing that some people are not achievers and that the top is meant for only a category of people.

  • Enhance Physical Contact With Friends, Family And Loved Ones.

There is hardly anybody that does not enjoy a good hug or positive physical contact. A gentle touch, a pat on the back, a healthy hug… sends across a message that words alone can never convey. We need to develop this habit with friends, family members and loved ones. One research study on this subject showed that a waitress who touched some of her customers on the arm as she handed them their checks received higher tips from these customers than from the ones she did not touch!

  • Get Out There And Get Socially Involved.

Cultivate the culture of getting involved in social activities. Join clubs, associations and organizations that will give you the opportunity to network with others of like mind. Ensure that the company you keep is that of healthy, happy and positive people. By doing this, you decrease the chances of being and feeling lonely and increase the chances of touching others positively. Remember that like not only attracts like but also influences same.

  • Be A Happy Volunteer!

You need to develop a volunteer culture. You should volunteer your time, your talent, and or your treasure. The more you give of yourself, the more you will receive in return. There are clubs who major in volunteerism. Join such a club. Give a little back to your community and your world.

  • Be A Cheerful Giver

The principle of sowing and reaping is a universal one that has stood the test of time. What you sow is what you reap. If you develop the habit to give freely and willingly, you will also receive. If you refuse to give, it is likely that you will also not be given. Simpliciter! The person who gives is the person who is really on top. Learn to be a cheerful giver. Give and it shall be given unto you.

  • Live A Life of Thanksgiving.

You need to constantly be conscious of the big and small things that have made your life worth while and take out time daily to be thankful to your Creator for them. Express gratitude and thanks for little courtesies people extend to you every day. Do not be miserly with saying “Thank you” By so doing you will notice a huge but positive difference in your life.

Now you know. Begin today to take control of your life and start counting the resultant blessings.

We remain committed to your success.

Success Comes By Taking Action

Success No Comments »

No doubt about that.

We once read a great post that was guest blogged by Alan LeStourgeon of Affiliate Confession at John Chow dot com titled Earn Money Online Just By Showing Up. This post even though addressing the things that need to be done to achieve success online in our opinion applies to all areas of life; online or offline.

Just read this excerpt from the post:

Being in the top 10% of bloggers and affiliate marketers requires that you just do something besides shop on eBay and read the news all day. If you are going to blog, then quit screwing around with it and do it every day, no excuses. Being in the top 5% probably requires little more effort than adding 10 comments and 2 forum posts a day and 1 article to an article directory per week.

It’s a joke to think making any money in the online world is easy. It is not, and the minions of ebook pimps selling their seductive elixir are liars if they tell you different. But don’t kid yourself, a few thousand dollars a month in earnings is well within your grasp if you just follow some simple guidelines and do them every day or as required, on a consistent basis.

It is so easy to be distracted by so many activities around us that we loose focus on things we should be focusing on and taking action on. Because many are not taking this basic step of taking action they wonder why they are not succeeding. Many of us do not like work and that is why we miss opportunities because they come dressed as work. truly success lies in doing simple basic things.

Why don’t you take action to succeed today?

Self Improvement as a Key to Success

Success No Comments »

You want success in life? You want to live that perfect life you’ve always dreamt of? How are you going to attain it? What do you need to do to achieve the success you so desire? One thing you need to know is that most things that happen to us are not happenstance. They happen on purpose. When once you realize this, it will help you come to grips with yourself. You need to know that more often than not, one thing leads to another. The fact that you are in a particular situation today is an opportunity to improve on it and step up to the next level so instead of locking yourself up in your cage of fears and crying over spilt milk, past heartaches, embarrassment and failures treat them as your teachers and they will become your tools in self improvement and ultimately success.

To make it in life, you need to take action to succeed by working on the path of self improvement. The following are a few tips that will help you on your chosen path to self improvement and success:

  • How do you rate yourself? Do you see yourself as a failure or a success? If for any reason you see yourself as a failure then you must stop thinking and feeling so because you’re not. You must know that to be successful, you need to first and foremost accept yourself. Why? Simple! If you don’t, no one else will! Why would anyone else accept you if you can’t accept you?

  • How do you feel when you see celebrities and apparently successful people on TV or read about them in the Dailies? Or even meet them? Do you dwell on self pity instead of being challenged to take action to improve yourself? Always remember that those celebrities do not have two heads. They have one just like you and so if they could achieve stardom; it stands to reason that you also can. But they did not get to where they are overnight. Yes, they may have been smart but they were ready to put in long hours behind the scenes to improve themselves and ultimately achieve their goals. So, be willing to do what it takes to get to the place called success.

  • When you meet other people who feel down and low about themselves, what do you do? Do you help them to restore their confidence and move up? Or you turn the other way and pretend you never saw them? Help them, encourage them but don’t go down with them. Nor let them pull you down. You know it is easier to destroy than to build. So, go out there today and cheerfully help lift the spirit of another person.

  • Appreciate other people and the beautiful things around you. When you do so, you also become beautiful to others. You may not know it but the truth is that little acts of kindness, appreciation or interest mean a lot to many people. A lot of people leave their homes each day feeling worthless, so when you do simple things like greeting them, wishing them a wonderful day, helping them lift a bag of grocery, guiding them across a busy street or simply appreciating what they are wearing, you do not know but you could just be making such a difference in their lives! Remember, the golden rule: do unto others as you would want them do to you. So, go out there and appreciate somebody.

  • How do you take failure? Do you see failure as the end of the road or just the beginning of another? You need to know that mistakes are meant to be lessons and not the end of the road. Every failure is a chance to try again. Don’t feel stupid and doomed forever just because you failed the first time or even the second or third. Remember, there’s always a next time. Make room to improve on your failure and try as many times as it will take you to succeed. Self improvement is a one day at a time journey. So, see failure as a stepping stone and not a stopping stone!

  • Goal setting. Even at the risk of repetition, we can never stop emphasizing this point. Goal setting remains the master skill of success. So, you must set for yourself meaningful, achievable and measurable goals. Self improvement doesn’t make you a superstar overnight rather the aim is to achieve an improved and better you which will inevitably set you on the path of monumental success. So, if you’ve never set a goal, do so today and if you have; stick to your goals and take action to accomplish them.

  • The only constant thing in life is change. When you realize the need to and you are willing to accept change and go through the process of self improvement, you are undoubtedly So,on the path to success but it doesn’t mean that everyone else is ready and willing to accept same. People out there have different values and attitudes so, don’t try to change everybody else just because you have seen the benefits of changing you. Sometimes, even if you think you and your best friend always like to do the same thing together at the same time; don’t be shocked to see that your best friend may not see the need for self improvement. Just take action constantly and let him/her see the changes in your life. Remember: action always speaks louder and more convincingly than words. So ,do not try to change the world by only words, let your actions speak for you.

What are the benefits of self improvement? The results you get when you faithfully embark on this journey called self improvement are fantastic! Some are: inner stability, self confidence, self appreciation, self esteem, self worth and above all genuine, reliable and lasting success.

Finally and for the umpteenth time never ever think that there’s any such thing as lasting and real over night success. You must deliberately plan for it; you must be smart enough to recognize every opportunity that comes your way and be ever ready to meet success. You must be willing to take action to succeed no matter the cost. Success does not come to the slothful, it comes to the diligent. Remember the saying that “When the student is ready, the teacher will appear.” Unconsciously, people around you like your parents, friends, teachers, colleagues whether professional or at the office, neighbours etc help prepare you for success. They are your teachers. But you must recognize this and learn the necessary lessons. When you take these lessons to heart and begin to act on them by improving yourself, your chances to arrive at the destination called success becomes even brighter.

6 Vital Success Questions

Success No Comments »

What is success? Is it just having massive material comfort, possession of several titles and academic degrees? Certainly not, success involves planning all aspects of your life. To be truly successful in life, you need to determine where you are coming from, who you want to be, the means through which you will get there and then begin to take those actions that would guarantee success.

Where Are You Coming From?

In life, you must have a starting point. Your starting point is who you are right now. Most times when you are asked to introduce yourself, you would likely say your name, your profession or where you live. But does this really tell who you are? No, it only explains your present preoccupation. To really know who you are, you have to look beyond your economic, professional, cultural and civil position as compared with your beliefs, values, and principles. Again, your experiences in life will assist in giving you insights on your positive and negative perspectives, your skills, ideas, abilities and disabilities, your areas of strength or weakness. At the conclusion of this exercise, you will be in a position to truly determine who you are and where you are coming from and whether you are ready to take any action that would guarantee you success.

Who Do You Want To Be?

Without knowing where you are coming from or who you presently are, you wouldn’t know who you want to be or where you want to go. Knowing who you are at the moment is important as it would enable you have a clearer idea of who you eventually want to be. You would also begin to know the things you need to change in your life so as to become who you want to be and also the things you need to add on. If you do not know yourself well enough, you won’t be able to clearly see who you want to be. Who you want to be should be all encompassing covering your emotional, spiritual, physical and intellectual life.

Through What Means Do You Want To Be That Person?

By what means do you want to reach your destination? What is your goal in life? You cannot have a goal if you do not know yourself for it would simply mean that you do not know what you want nor how to get it. In fact, one of the things goal setting does is to enable you know yourself. So, to a large extent, your goals would depend on what you know about yourself. After determining your goals in life, you should then draw up a mission statement that would serve you as a guiding principle to take action.

What Do You Require To Be That Person?

Your knowledge, skills, ideas and attitude are some of the basics you require to be a successful person. These are the tools that say how good you are and which will assist you in achieving your goals. This being the case, you need to take another look at what you presently possess, determine whether it is enough to get you there and if not, determine what else you need to pick up in the course of your journey. Do you need more knowledge in a particular field? Do you need to meet some particular person? Do you need to discard some habit? This self-assessment will give you insights on your ability to achieve.

What Are The Indices That Show You Are On The Right Track?

On the route to success, you need some sign posts that will tell you whether you are on the right track or not.

These are called goals and they confirm if you are on the right track or not.

They are the measures of your success. They must be realistic, attainable, measurable, and time specific. What this means is that if you truly want to achieve your plans, you cannot set two major goals that run concurrently at the same time. You must set a specific target; achieve same before moving on to the next.

Would There Be Delays, Detours And Speed Bumps On The Way?

The purpose of planning is to make your route to success smoother and to avoid a situation where you can make decisions that can make you lose your way. But no matter how focused you are, there are times that circumstances clearly beyond your control can cause delays, and give rise to situations beyond you. Like in every thing in life, there could be unexpected delays, detours, and speed bumps but you must anticipate them and prepare for them by taking all appropriate actions that will guarantee success. This means having a back up plan.

So, arise, make that plan and take action to succeed at it.

If you found this useful, post a comment.

Goals: The Master Skill of Success

Success No Comments »

Setting goals is a skill that needs to be developed in each one of us. Why? The answer lies in the saying that “success is goals and all else is commentary.”

Your ability to set clear, specific goals for yourself in every area of your life will do more to guarantee you higher levels of success and achievement than any single skill or quality you may possess. The starting point of all great accomplishment is absolute clarity about what you want. The more definite and focused you are, the easier it is for you to make better decisions on your priorities and the use of your time. The more time you spend on your most important goals, the more you accomplish them and the better you get at accomplishing more. And naturally, the more you achieve, the better you feel about yourself and the more you want to take further action to achieve more success. There is no doubt that goals are the master skill of success as Brian Tracy stated.

Dreams represent the new life you want to live while goals are the means you are going to use to get to that kind of life. Goals are your day to day plans. It is therefore necessary that you take action to succeed by setting the right type of goals. Note that goal setting is not just for your financial life but for every area of your life bearing in mind the true definition of wealth.

Strategies To Setting Goals

  • Let them be your own goals. You must feel excited about achieving them.
  • They must fit into your sense of right and wrong otherwise known as your values. High performance of these goals depends on their compatibility with your values.
  • You must write your goals down. That is the only way that you will be motivated to take action to succeed in implementing them. Make sure you personalize them and write them as if you have already achieved them. You can then prioritize them and break them in to your ten most important goals for any given year. When you write your goals it makes you want to achieve them. Putting due dates to them make you feel more compelled to take action to achieve them in spite of all odds. If you are interested in getting a free e-book on achieve goals and a sample copy of a Goals Worksheet that shows you how to set comprehensive goals download below:
  • achieve goals and
  • goals worksheet
  • Share your vision only with those you know would support your goals. Be careful to avoid sharing your goals with people (whether family or otherwise) who will not encourage you to attain them.
  • Your goals must be in harmony with one another. For instance you cannot set the goal of investing in stocks this year and then have another goal of sticking to one source of income which was barely able to support you last year.
  • Your goals must be challenging. They must have a fifty per cent chance of success and be propelling enough to bring out the best in you. They must be so challenging that you will feel the adrenalin pumping in you to take action to accomplish them.
  • You should have concrete goals that are measurable and achievable. Don’t set goals that are clearly unachievable. They must be such that reading them will make you feel compelled to take action with a determination to succeed.
  • Make a list of everything you could possibly do to achieve the goals and make sure you take action to succeed every day in your bid to achieve them. It helps to organize your to-do list into what we call a take action plan with a sequence of well ordered activities to be carried out daily.

Goal setting is part of financial planning and when you fail to plan, you have already planned to fail. If you truly want progress in your life, you must take action to succeed today by setting your goals. Whatever happens to you this year, you must take responsibility for same because you would be the one choosing what you do. Remember that we are here to share tips that would create awareness in you but it is your responsibility to take action if you truly desire success as we cannot take action for you.

The year is already far spent but it is not too late for you to take action to succeed by setting your goals today, that is, if you haven’t already done so!

Finally, if you have set your goals, you must take action to succeed by following through with them. Do all these and see success embrace you like a sweet lover this year.

Must I Take Action to Succeed in Life?

Success No Comments »

Some people at times ask the question whether they really need to take action to succeed in life. Such people believe they can succeed by being lucky or winning a lottery or any such easy way. Interestingly, the people who ask such questions are generally lazy people who are looking for quick ways to become wealthy. Permit us to repeat it that to acquire true wealth, you must take action to succeed. Not just any type of action but calculated and definite actions with the singular focus to succeed as your goal.

The prevailing get-rich-quick mentality has made some people think up of all sorts of bizarre get-rich-quick schemes. Otherwise, how do you explain a situation where someone wants to give another $5,000 and expect $80,000 to $100,000 returns within two weeks! Or someone who puts in $7,000 into an affiliate programme he does not really understand or knows next to nothing about just because he is promised a monthly return of $3,500 for a year! These are life situations some of our students have told us they have undertaken in their bid to make quick money without being willing and ready to take genuine actions that will guarantee true success.

We just returned to our base after being away for 9 days attending a boot camp training in a city about 600 kilometres away from our home. Of course you can imagine the discomfort of being away from your home for 9 days and having to put up with somebody or in a hotel for that length of time in a city much bigger and busier than yours. But despite the discomfort, it was interesting to note that among the attendees (most of who also went through one form of discomfort or the other) four broad categories of people emerged as participants.

  1. Those that didn’t understand or make any head way with most of what was taught.
  2. Those that appeared to have understood but had no idea how to go to the next level to actually take action to succeed with what they had learnt.
  3. Those that understood but would definitely not take action to succeed because what they had learnt may require extra effort and sacrifice to accomplish.
  4. Those that understood and know precisely what actions to take to succeed with the information they had been stuffed with.

So, despite all the hassle, expenses and discomfort involved to be at the boot camp, the foregoing shows that at the end of the training, not all the attendees were ready to move to the next level where they would have to go beyond theory and actually take action to succeed. Pause a moment and ask yourself where you would fall into were you at that training. We suspect that you may quickly say you would be in the group of those ready to take action. If so, congrats because that is the beginning of the race!

The truth however, is that for you to actually move to the level where you are ready to take action to succeed in life, you must be willing and ready to invest in your self first. How do you do this? The first step is as described above i.e. acquiring requisite knowledge through attending seminars and trainings relevant to your niche. Thereafter, you must take the next step which is to conduct further research on the issues you want to further investigate. A simple way of researching topics is by using Google and Yahoo search engines on the internet. This is the taking action part because you can never be taught all you need to know in one training session. There is therefore the need to get thoroughly grounded on the subject of your interest if you want to achieve real success and not mere mediocrity. Remember that ignorance is a big disease that will only result in you making avoidable mistakes.

Again, if you truly desire to succeed in life, you should first choose one thing, focus on it and make a great success out of it. Focus on something that you like doing and make the most of it. It is only when you have successfully mastered your chosen area that you should move to the next area of interest to you and attempt making the same or a better success of it. Remember that it never pays to be Jack of all trades and master of none.

To begin to achieve success on a daily basis, it is recommended that you draw up a daily Take Action To Succeed list that outlines the activities you need to follow each day. After drawing up the list, ensure you follow them. You cannot be said to be taking action if you can’t discipline yourself enough to follow your own list! We have employed this method and noticed that adhering to it greatly enables us achieve much more of our daily goals.

Do you have a mentor? Why did you choose that particular person as a mentor? What successful actions do you see him/her do? You will only succeed when you emulate him/her by actually taking action with success as your goal.

Success requires that you persist in taking action. Do not be afraid of making mistakes because as a renowned writer said a life spent making mistakes is better than one spent doing nothing.

Finally, always remember that the only thing that guarantees success is taking action on what you know and not merely knowing what you know. So, begin to take action to succeed in life today and you will truly succeed.

We remain deeply committed to your success.

Do You Know That Giving Unlocks The Gates Of Wealth ?

Success 1 Comment »

Hello friends, you would notice that we have not posted any new content to this blog in the past couple of days. This is not because we are not ready to serve you your usual spicy and hot postings. It’s just that we have been away equipping ourselves to serve you even better dishes. Yes, you guessed right, we have been undergoing a one week training on ‘Demystifying the Internet’ some 600 kilometres away from our base. In fact, we are still at the training but we felt we should not starve you for so long and that is why we just had to make out time to drop these few words.

Our beliefs contribute in no small way to the wealth we attract to our lives. From childhood in most climes and cultures, there are all kinds of myths associated with being wealthy. Some believe God has not designed it for all to be wealthy. For others the root of all evil is money while others believe that not every one can be rich so why try?  Some others believe money is meant to be spent to satisfy their desires ( in other words, live for today as tomorrow would take care of itself). In the same vein, people in some climes are taught to hold tightly to what they have, never giving. Most times people hold tight to things even when such things have outlived their usefulness. People give out only what they obviously do not need or things that are not usable by them any more. Are all these beliefs true or false?

There is a universally accepted principle that givers never lack and lackers never give. If one does not learn or cultivate the culture of giving right from an early age, a principle of lack is unconsciously unleashed. It should be noted that in order for one to receive, one must learn to have an open fist because when your fist is clenched, you receive nothing. There is this story told of a man who fell into a water well and all efforts to take him out of the well by neighbours yielded  no results. This was simply because he had been urged by his neighbours to stretch out his hand to enable them pull him out but he refused to do so. When his wife was contacted, she told them that they obviously did know her husband. She then told them that they should follow her to the scene and watch what she was going to do. On getting to the well, she called out to her husband saying John Darling, please TAKE this rope’. John there and then immediately reached out and took hold of the rope.  What does this tell us? John only knew how to receive but not give. He refused to stretch his hand when he was asked to do so even at the risk of loosing his life. What about you?

Are you like John? Are you in the habit of only receiving but never giving? If you are, it is time you began changing. It is time you began giving for that is a major key that unlocks the universal principle of receiving. It is clear that the more you give, the more you are likely to receive. You will be successful when you start obeying this principle. Today, America is one of the richest nations on earth. One of the reasons for this is that young Americans are taught the art of giving right from childhood and they grow up with the giving culture. No wonder, America is today what it is!

It is by giving that you attract more to yourself. The Christian Holy Book says ‘… give and it shall be given unto you, good measure pressed down, shaken together and running over shall men give unto your bosom. The plain truth is that if you do not cultivate the habit of giving hardly would anyone give to you either. In a nutshell, you’ve got to learn to give, have an open heart and be willing to invest in others around you in order to attract wealth to yourself. Whatever your goal might be, you would only achieve it faster when you’re willing to give to others. This will bring into your life other people that are willing to also give to  you to enable you achieve success. Note that giving here does not mean senseless giving or the giving of money only. Neither does receiving mean the same.

Our Dear friends cultivate the culture of giving: to the poor and needy, to the less privileged, to charity, giving of offerings and tithes, and see how money would fly to you.

Give it a trial, TAKE ACTION TODAY!

We remain deeply committed to your success,

ChrisVidal
